Steamboat Ramble. July 27-30, 2017

The Steamboat Ramble is July 27-30.

This is the Queen event. It’s the hardest at nearly 200 miles and 19K feet of climbing. It’s desolate and day two is a commitment.

It is the ride that captured everyone’s imagination from which came the Ramble. Ride the “SBR” as it is known locally, and it’ll get into your imagination too.

Steamboat Ramble really tested me mentally and physically…It was easily one of the most positive life changing things in my life. Very grateful you invited me. That was a solid life experience.

It’s truly of of those experiences that will leaved you changed on the other side.

Hi, I’m interested in the ride, and was just wondering what was required to be carried on the bike each day. I’m thinking of using my CX bike, so wouldn’t have mounting points. Is there a support vehicle to carry tents and sleeping bags? How about clothes and spares? Are you just required to be self-sufficient for the day?

    Thanks
    Mike

Hi, I believe I registered but have only gotten a “ramble ride order receipt” email. The website says there would be a welcome package with discounts, more details, etc. Did I miss something? Thanks, Kimberly

      Hey Kimberly,

The receipt is the first step; the registration info (with the discount codes, etc.) is slightly delayed but should go out this week. Looking forward to riding with you!

Hello I just saw this ride and am thinking about joining but of course have a few questons. I would be driving up from Phoenix AZ would there be a place to store my car that is safe? I also have a trek 520 with stock 700×32 tires and rims would that be good for this kinda ride.

Plenty of places to park your car for the event; many folks do. NBB has an employee lot that can be used. For the bike, I recommend 38c tires but here’s why: there are some pretty rocky descents. For 85-90% of the ride a robust 32c tire is fine. So for that extra bit, take it slow and you should be fine. Folks have done this ride on 32c for sure. More important is tubeless if you can swing it. Almost everyone who ran tubes had one or two pinch flats from the descents. Tubeless folks didn’t obviously have this issue.
